The BestZodiac
This category was pretty much owned on the first outing: "Zodiac" was the first movie I saw this year and it was an absolute masterpiece. The 60's and 70's setting actually felt real instead of props and costumes, the suspense of the murders actually took a backseat to the tension of chasing the killer, and all the actors were simply superb. The knife murders along the lake were so simply done and yet is the scariest scene I've witnessed in years. Another "effortless" film (ones where you can't detect the guiding hand, they're just so natural) ... they seem to be my faves.

I went into the theatre expecting a hip, overly special-effected piece of trash. About 20 minutes in even my super cynacism couldn't stand up to all the robots transforming into vehicles. Fucking robots trasnforming into vehicles! With all the wrong parts (Shia Lebeouf, Michael Bay directing, based on an 80's toyline) this movie somehow amazingly, impossibly hit it out of the park!

The WorstTalladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
A blu-ray DVD of "Talladega Nights" came with my purchase of a PS3 and I decided to pop it in one day. Even though I have always been a big fan of Will Ferrall, this movie was god awful. I laughed ... one ... time. This movie also wins Worst Visual Joke I've Ever Seen in a Movie for the cut to a TGIF commercial during an extended car crash.
Runner UpThe Quiet Man
Boring, silly, with virtually no story at all. Without the technicolor landscapes of the Irish hillside, this movie would be forgotten. Narrowly edged out "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" as both were equally bad, except "The Quiet Man" was supposed to be great.
