Much like the Best Blogs, I thought 2007 was going to produce a pretty poor crop of Best Photo Nominees. And, though I don't think it was nearly as strong as 2006, I was happily surprised at what I discovered. Drunk Irishman beats out all the rest because it's unrehearsed, real, and captures both my hardest won, proudest victory and my lowest, drunken shame at the exact same time.

It was actually an extremely tight race for runner-up between Dancin' Nate and the Chihuahua Lifeguard. I just randomly happened to see the Lifeguard dog in time (it jumped off pretty quickly) and I really like all the bright colors and spacing in the picture. But, ultimately, there is no real story. Dancin' Nate on the other hand speaks volumes: captured in the photo are a very discernable beginning, middle, and tragic end.
