My apartment lease finally ran out, forcing me to leave JMU for good. I arrived at my mother's house in Woodbridge, Virginia with high hopes but no recollection of what it took to realize any of my musical aspirations. All of those skills had been drowned by the sixth month period of drinking I had just escaped. Bras was in shambles and neither Richard nor I knew how to kick start our songwriting again now that we were back to living with our parents. Then, an inspired idea at recreating a Shack-like experience at his second house in Amherst, Virginia lit the proverbial fire under our asses. The result was "Brent" and renewed hope for Killiam-Syckes penned tunes.
