| | [5.01] the Mango | |
Premiered: 09/16/93 Writer(s): Lawrence H. Levy, Buck Dancer Director: Tom Cherones | 4.583 | | If sex be the food of love, then everyone spends 22 minutes on a diet. George's girlfriend, Karen, gives him "the tap" during sex. Elaine admits she "faked 'em all" with Jerry. Karen's orgasmic moans while eating risotto cause George to worry that she's faking it, so he can't perform. But after he bites a mango, his member moves. The earth doesn't when Jerry gets a second shot at Elaine. | | - Seinfeld Forever |

| Seinfeld Self-Reference George's "I think it moved" comment is just how he described the sensation in [3.01] the Note | Seinfeld Self-Reference Kramer originally told Jerry to always buy fresh fruit from Joe's Fruit back in [2.01] the Ex-Girlfriend | Superman/Comics References Jerry: A female orgasm is kinda like the Batcave. Only a very few people know where it is and if you're lucky enough to see it you probably don't know how you got there and you can't find you way back after you left. |

| | Seinfeld Forever 5.000 / 4.583 (3) | All the essential ingredients, while brilliantly lampooning erotic duplicity.
|
 | Stever 4.500 / 4.583 (3) | This season starts out with a bang ... or is it a 'fake bang?' Seinfeld was known to break taboo's usually shied away from on television and a woman's orgasms – especially fake ones! – was one of those. Great interplay between Elaine and Jerry, but Kramer gets the best line: "You know I faked it."
|
 | Stanus 4.250 / 4.583 (3) | I get the impression the main plot line in this episode was pretty risque back when it first aired, but now it seems like just another Sex and the City story. Still, this episode shines because of the usual Seinfeld treatment of the material, not the shock value of the material itself. Though Jerry and George's mirror-image stories aren't as subtle as some of the more masterful episodes, Kramer's mango surprise does come out of nowhere and really pays off. I love Elaine and Jerry's childish fight in the car about a mature subject, and Kramer's "faked it" line brings the house down. Above average, but it's not like after the Risotto.

| | Quotes | Goerge: It's all your fault! You and Elaine, all that orgasm talk. She did have an orgasm, she didn't have an orgasm! Orgasm this, orgasm that! I got so focused on it, I started to panic and poom! I lost it! I tried everything. I was talking to it: 'Please wake up, do something!' Jerry: They're mysterious little fellows, aren't they? George: I hate 'em!

| Kramer: You know I faked it. Jerry: What? Kramer: Yeah. Jerry: You faked it? Why would you do that? Kramer: Well, you know, it's enough already and I just wanna get some sleep.
